This built-in layer of protection means that by the time a customer interacts with a TapMe machine, they have already been confirmed as 21 or older by venue staff.
All TapMe machines are installed exclusively in bars, nightclubs, and entertainment venues that enforce a 21-and-over admission policy. Door security and ID checks performed by the venue act as the primary age verification barrier. We do not place machines in locations that admit minors, ensuring that every potential customer has already cleared an age check before entering the premises.
For operators and jurisdictions that require an additional layer of verification, TapMe offers an optional ID scanner module. This hardware add-on integrates directly with our machines and reads standard government-issued identification. The scanner verifies the customer's date of birth in real time and will not dispense age-restricted products unless verification is successful.
The ID scanner module is designed to be fast and frictionless. A quick scan takes under two seconds, keeping the customer experience seamless while maintaining strict compliance standards. No personal data is stored on the machine — the scanner checks age eligibility and discards the information immediately.
